The object of this action revolves around a possible favorable treatment of the rector of Pompeu Fabra University (UPF) to a professor whom he would have resolved to appoint in 2017 as vice-rector without the requirements established in the Statutes of the University to do so. Following the request for information from this Office, the Rector acknowledges the irregular appointment and resolves his resignation. In the opinion of the Anti-Fraud Office, a procedure for the ex officio review of the resolution of the affected appointment should be initiated, so that, for legal purposes, it is considered not to have been carried out. It is also considered necessary for the University to avoid giving validity and public visibility to the exercise of this position by the appointed person, as would be done on the University’s own website.
