The Anti-Fraud Office has examined, following a report, the alleged irregularities in the direct subsidies granted by the Parets del Vallès Town Council to a person, and the illegal use or destination of public funds in relation to the expenses arising from a trip by certain managers of the entity. From the examination carried out, it has been established that the municipal intervention had already detected and warned of the reported irregularities relating to the subsidies and that these have been corrected. In relation to the expenses of the trip, although it has not been possible to prove a sufficient public motivation for the trip, nor its publicity and transparency, they were very minor expenses in relation to the municipal budget. In any case, this Office does not question the opportunity or suitability of the public action that causes the expenditure, especially considering that, in this case, the return to the municipality is difficult to estimate.
