As part of the appearance of the director of the Anti-Fraud Office before the Institutional Affairs Committee of the Parliament of Catalonia to report on the 2017 annual report, a deputy requested that the subsidies granted to the entity Acció Cultural del País Valencià by the Generalitat de Catalunya be investigated. Following this request, an action was initiated on its own initiative to carry out the necessary actions to investigate and clarify the facts indicated. Thus, once the documentation and information necessary to analyze the facts were obtained, the archiving of the actions has been concluded since the subsidies were granted following the established procedure. However, and taking into account the nature of the subsidy, its geographical scope, the reasonable doubts about the final participation of the Generalitat in the subsidized object and (especially) the high amounts granted as a whole, a reasoned recommendation has been sent to the Department of Economics and Finance so that it considers reviewing the expenditure related to said subsidies in accordance with the functions provided for in Chapter X of the revised text of the Public Finance Law of Catalonia.
